Failte The Irish Import Shop
Liza Hendley Betz Emigrated from Dublin Ireland to the United States Of America on June 10th 1996. She came to Kentucky with the intention of staying 3 weeks and then was to contiue on Her traveling. Liza ended up falling in Love with Kentucky and has been in Kentucky ever since.
She just recently got married in December 2006 to Michael Betz. Michael is studying veterinary Medicine at Auburn Alabama.
There is a big population of Irish in Kentucky. Most of the Irish are here due to the horse industry and through the University of Kentucky. Kentucky is very like Ireland. The people have the southern hospitality just like the friendly Irish. And Kentucky is nearly as green as Ireland.
Liza was missing Ireland very much and thought of one way that She could make that little bit of homesickness go away. She could open up a Irish shop and Import the food items that She and Her fellow Irish Friends were missing. So Failte "The Irish Shop" was born in December 2001. Due to the huge emigration from all the Irish and Scottish way back Liza noticed a great demand for other Irish products. So by listening to the Scot / Irish Americans She has Wonderful selection of Imported goods from Ireland.
Liza Imports, Galway Crystal, Belleek China, Aran Wool Sweaters, Irish and Scottish Books, Celtic Cd's, Celtic Jewelry, Wedding Bands, Mullingar Pewter, Irish Fragrances, Celtic Fairies, Guinness Merchandise, Flat Caps and Hats, Imported Foods. To name a few.
